Spend a week using applied engineering to build a variety of sculptures both outside and in an art studio. The Lawrence Arts Center is collaborating with City Playcorps' Adventure Playground to help students design within parameters, create ephemeral and lasting sculptures, and utilize collaboration and critical thinking to build works of their own choice. Each day will focus on a shared Physics/Art principle in order to explore the many ways of engineering sculptures; build your essential 3D language as we focus on Material, Mass, Space, Center of Gravity, and Movement. Engineers in 1st-2nd grades and 3rd-5th grades will split time outside practicing and learning through creative play.
